Vocational training
We strive to ensure our training prepares people with disabilities for the world of work. To offer vocational training that gives our students realistic opportunities to gain employment.
All of our training is delivered based on an Individual Training Plan, this tailors the learning experience to maximise the benefit for every individual student. Our projects are often based in real businesses such as:
- cafes
- a garden centre
- a gift shop.
This makes our training very special with students applying their new skills in real-life work environments. Not only do they learn valuable skills, they go on to demonstrate them in working businesses.
Moving into paid employment
We work in partnership with Quest Employment Agency to help students move into paid employment.
The Quest Employment and Training Advisor works with students referred by Vision 21, helping them with:
- job finding
- CVs
- application forms
- interview preparation
- support at interview
- provision of a job trainer to help them learn the job
- benefits guidance.
Students have successfully gone on to work for a wide variety of employers including:
- Cardiff Council – Gardener
- The New Theatre – Porter
- Hillcroft Residential Home – Domestic Assistant.
