Following on from the successful Summer Schemes we have run each summer since 2004, we are yet again intending to run this highly popular opportunity for young people with learning disabilities over the summer. The Vision 21 summer scheme provides a wonderful opportunity for the young people who attend to gain insight into the wide range of vocational learning choices available to them as they prepare to move on from school/college and offers them the chance to make more informed career decisions. There are 40 places available to students aged 14 – 21, on a first come first served basis during the periodMonday 20th July 2007 to Friday 28th August 2009 Each individual can access a maximum of 5 days, 1 day per week in the project of their choice and if they live in the Cardiff area their taxi transport will also be provided free of charge. The summer scheme particularly tries to offer opportunities to young people with borderline learning disabilities who have not attended Vision 21 projects before, but we will also consider others. Please note that we will not be able to provide 1:1 support for individuals with high support needs e.g. challenging behavior or personal care support.
