Doorstep Delights
Doorstep Delights is a sandwich bar and our first project in Newport.
It is popular with local residents and business, serving a wide variety of food and drinks including:
- sandwiches and baguettes
- salads
- pizza
- hot and cold drinks.
Training and accreditation
Students undertake an OCN course at Brynglas Adult Training Centre to gain their Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
Those who may benefit start with some initial ‘taster’ sessions. If these go well placements are available for:
- one day a week for four weeks
- two days a week for sixteen weeks.
An Individual Training Plan (ITP) is developed for each student, this includes skills such as:
- preparing food
- using catering equipment
- retail.
